The multifaceted roles of breast milk antibodies
نویسندگان
چکیده
Summary Neonates are born with an immature immune system and rely on the transfer of immunity from their mothers. Maternal antibodies transferred via placenta breast milk. Although role placentally immunoglobulin G (IgG) is established, less known about selection milk mechanisms by which they provide protection against neonatal disease. Evidence suggests that play multifaceted roles, preventing infection supporting commensals tolerizing during infancy. Here, we discuss emerging data related to importance in development.

Breast Cancer Biology: The Multifaceted Roles of Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Recent upsurge in the interest of breast cancer metastasis is partly attributed to the discovery of novel, yet unclear, mechanisms of breast cancer interaction with sites of distant metastasis such as the bone marrow microenvironment. In this review, we discuss the significance of the interactions between breast cancer cells and cells of the bone marrow. This is a subject of intense research st...
متن کاملThe multifaceted roles of Eph/ephrin signaling in breast cancer
Eph receptors and their membrane-bound ligands are intimately involved in the control of morphogenic processes during embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis. By their ability to orchestrate cell migration, pattern formation and tissue integrity they are also prone to be involved in carcinogenic growth. In this review we concentrate on their involvement in the normal and carcinogenic...
متن کاملThe Multifaceted Roles of Bcl11b in Thymic
The transcription factor Bcl11b is expressed in all T cell subsets and progenitors, starting from the DN2 stage of T cell development, and it regulates critical processes implicated in the development, function, and survival of many of these cells. Among the common roles of Bcl11b in T cell progenitors and mature T cell subsets are the repression of the innate genetic program and, to some exten...
متن کاملThe Multifaceted Biological Roles of Vitamin C
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) deficiency is known to cause scurvy in humans [1]. Guinea pigs need dietary vitamin C as well and thus historically serve as the only mammalian model for vitamin C studies. Most other species including commonly used animal models, rats and mice, fulfill their need of ascorbic acid by liver synthesis. In the absence of significant intake, mice maintain plasma levels of ...
متن کاملDetection of IgE anti-parvovirus antibodies in human breast milk.
Breast milk is a complex fluid, rich in nutrients and non-nutritional bioactive components, including antimicrobial factors, immunoglobulins, cytokines, and anti-inflammatory substances. Although IgE is implicated in viral immunity, its role in breast milk in parvovirus B19 immunity has not been studied. Total immunoglobulin levels of IgE, IgG, and IgE anti-parvovirus B19 antibodies were determ...
